At St. Teresa’s, we take great pride in our ‘Oaks and Acorns’ programme, a special initiative designed to foster a nurturing and supportive school community. In this programme, our Year 6 children, known as the ‘Oaks,’ take on the important role of guiding and mentoring our youngest pupils, the Reception children, referred to as the ‘Acorns.’
The ‘Oaks and Acorns’ programme is based on the belief that every child can flourish with the right support and care. Our Year 6 Oaks help the Acorns grow and thrive during their first year at St. Teresa’s, offering guidance, friendship, and encouragement. This mentorship helps create a sense of belonging and confidence in our youngest children, while also instilling a sense of responsibility and compassion in our older pupils.
Throughout the year, the Oaks and Acorns engage in various activities, whether it’s sharing stories, participating in joint projects, or simply spending time together. These interactions help to build strong, lasting relationships that embody the core values of our Catholic faith.
