The sections below outline some of the highlights from recent quality assurance visits to The Woodlands:
OFSTED
- Leaders ensure that pupils, including pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) and disadvantaged pupils, benefit from a broad and suitably ambitious curriculum.
- Pupils with SEND, including those who access the specially resourced provision for pupils with SEND (specially resourced provision) receive appropriate help from staff. Leaders ensure that the needs of these pupils are identified and met. Pupils with SEND are supported well to access the full curriculum. They achieve as well as other pupils in the school.
CSI-Catholic Schools Inspection
- Staff are totally committed and are excellent role models for pupils. Relationships are built on a foundation of genuine love and care. The pastoral manager/SEND teacher, along with all staff, provide the highest levels of love and care for pupils, particularly those with special educational needs or disabilities (SEND) and pupils who are most vulnerable.
- There is an exceptionally strong sense of inclusivity for all, especially those who may feel marginalised in other settings. The woodlands provision is a wonderful example of the school using its resources to support pupils with additional needs and providing opportunities for pupils to access mainstream education.
