Welcome to The Woodlands Resource Provision at St Teresa’s School, Little Lever.
We are a Resource Provision for children with a diagnosis of Autism. Although the provision is a valued part of St Teresa’s Primary School, admission to the provision is through a panel process by the Local Authority. Admission to St Teresa’s or the primary school’s LA mainstream admission route will NOT result in admission to The Woodlands provision.
We understand that many children with a diagnosis of Autism can find the environment and structure of a mainstream class overwhelming and challenging and they need support from staff who are specifically trained to understand and be able to support their individual needs. In The Woodlands are proud to offer a specialised, inclusive learning environment with a dedicated and specially trained staff team to support children of primary age who require additional support to help them to thrive and reach their full potential.
The Woodlands originally opened in 2014 as a six-place provision, designed to meet the needs of children with complex educational requirements. Recognising the growing demand for high-quality, individualised support, we expanded in 2023 to increase our capacity to 14 places.
This expansion allows us to extend our provision to children with a diagnosis of Autism and a Severe Learning Disability, ensuring that more families have access to the help they need.
