At St Teresa’s it is our intent to deliver a high-quality physical education programme which inspires all pupils to succeed in physically demanding activities. We will allow children to develop the core skills (agility, balance, co-ordination) that will enable them to enjoy activity, feel confident being active in a way which supports their health and fitness. We will give them opportunities to engage in competitive sports and activities, as well as learn how to evaluate and recognise success.
Our Subject Leader is Mr Marshall.
Spring: Gymnastics. Archery
Summer: Athletics. Cricket
We also try to enter as many competitions as possible within our cluster and the wider area. Last year these included:
Football, Netball, Dance festival, Dodgeball (including glo-dodgeball), Boccia, Bowling, Athletics, Rounders, Cross Country and finally the Panathlon!
Children in year 6 have the opportunity to become sports leaders. They receive training from the coaches in school and lead games, competitions and activities for other children at lunch time in school.
We have been awarded silver (2023-24) for our commitment to sports for the young people in our school. We regularly evaluate our PE offer to ensure it offers the best opportunities for the children in our care.
